Health insurance or manager health screening?

Why is it beneficial to insure the health of colleagues?
The absence of a worker due to illness entails many additional costs, especially if this period is prolonged. The employer is liable for the tax and contributory absence allowance for the first 15 days of sick leave, the cost of overtime for replacement, in the event of a longer absence the cost of recruiting a new colleague, his/her wages and benefits. Projected on the Hungarian average gross wage, this represents an average of HUF 110,000 additional expenses for the employer, per employee.
The report of the Hungarian National Bank also mentions the high number of sick days as a competitive disadvantage of the national economy, as the number is twice as high as in Austria.
However, absence due to illness can be significantly reduced if we provide our employees with accessible, high-quality care and the opportunity for regular screening tests.
Consider a practical example
In production, our employee, who works in a key position in terms of the work process, is increasingly complaining of numbness in his arm, which is making it difficult for him to work. At first, he only experienced it at night, so he would always show up for his shift, but recently he has had to interrupt work several times because of the numbness.
If the employee does not have health insurance
He decides to investigate the cause of the complaint, so he goes to the general practitioner, as he does not know what might be causing the complaint. In many cases, he is out of work for even a whole day. He receives a referral from the GP for cardiology and orthopedics, where he has to go in a few days and two weeks later. The cardiology examination also takes a day, and then he takes sick leave until the next visit.
The following week, he also visits the orthopedic specialist, where, after the examination, tunnel syndrome is suspected. This requires further investigation, for which he will only receive an appointment in two weeks. During this time, in order not to lose his wages, he goes to work, but he can only do his job in reduced capacity.
The next examination reveals that the complaint is caused by tunnel syndrome, which requires surgical intervention. The surgery can be performed after another two weeks, before which he must take the mandatory pre-operative tests, and full recovery after surgery requires 1-1.5 weeks of convalescence.
The employee is therefore absent for at least 25 working days, and more than 10 weeks pass from the time of diagnosis to complete recovery, during which time his replacement has to be arranged.
